Oatmeal and Honey Cleanser

This is a recipe made entirely from ingredients from the store cupboard. The choice of olive oil or vinegar for mixing is up to you and your skin type. Olive oil is best for normal to dry skin and vinegar if your skin tends to be on the greasy side.

Don’t use malt vinegar, however, which s chemically produced and won’t smell nice, apart from possibly making your skin smart. Cider vinegar or any mild fruit vinegar would be best. You don’t need much, anyway.

It will keep for up to three months, so you could increase the proportions, but think it is best to make just enough for one application.

You will need:

  • 1 tablespoon finely ground oats
  • 1 tablespoon wheat bran
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Olive oil or cider vinegar to form a paste

Method:

Mix the oatmeal, wheat bran and honey together in a bowl. Add enough olive oil or cider vinegar to form a paste. Rinse your face with warm water, apply the cleanser and massage it gently into the skin. Rinse with warm water then splash your face with cold water.
